be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire."
--St. Catherine of Siena
In this pandemic of the coronavirus, the Parish Staff has been doing its best to continue to meet your spiritual needs. I applaud all of our Parish Staff for their goodness. However, Karen Luke has gone beyond, using all her spiritual faith, wisdom, and technical know-how in reaching out to our faith community. Through all her postings on Facebook, updates to our Website, and organizing the hot new medium, ZOOM, Karen has brought prayer, blessings, and joys to so many in these difficult days that we have been experiencing. Talk about working from home, Karen has made these difficult moments bearable by her love.
I think I can speak on behalf of the entire Parish Staff and say, “Much heartfelt thanks to you, Karen!”
Love,
Father Rob
I am so humbled by this nomination. It is with great gratitude I nominate Brian Mikewicz for a Star Light.
Brian was a great gift to our faith community for several years. He was on our Finance Ministry and brought his wisdom to our table. A wonderful opportunity came up (by the way, Brian is a young man) and he moved to Virginia. This great guy, even after moving over a year ago still contributes to the treasure of your/our parish. WOW! When I think of those who don’t get stewardship, I am so in awe of Brian.
Please join me in thanking this young gentleman for his understanding of stewardship and wanting to keep your/our parish going forward!!!
Bless you, Brian,
Father Rob
In this time of the crisis of the COVID-19 Virus there are many people being thanked on TV and Social Media for their heroic responses to so many needs. Among them, I nominate our own Colleen Salsburg as a Star Light of St. Catherine’s. Colleen has been a good steward at St. Catherine’s for many years serving as a Eucharistic Minister, offering to bring the gifts to the Altar at Mass, and helping with our Church environment.
Hayley Alden, a friend of one of Colleen’s children, was inspired to make Head Bands for our medical heroes with buttons to which they can attach their masks, thus relieving the constant pressure on their ears, making wearing these protective masks feel more comfortable. Hayley has been overwhelmed receiving more than 3,000 orders for her Head Bands. Colleen and about a dozen other volunteers from Victor are working to fill these requests…true Star Lights in this present darkness engulfing our world.
Thank you Colleen,
Ruth
