Children in grades 2nd and higher will prepare for Communion beginning in January and celebrating in May.  

First Communion preparation for children is an opportunity for the children of our parish to continue to explore their relationship with Jesus and receive the in the Most Holy Communion with their Parish Family. Parents are the primary educators and formers of their child’s faith. With this understanding, parish staff and entire Church family enter into this time of preparation with you to support you in your desire to raise your children in the faith, knowledge, and tradition of the Church. Preparation for the sacraments is done in addition to attending faith formation sessions and Mass. 

The children preparing for the Sacrament explore:

• the basic teachings of the church.
• the love of Jesus in the Eucharist.
• how to prepare the heart, mind and soul to receive the Body of Christ
• how to deepen their prayer life
