We would like to nominate Bob Gruber for a Star Lights Award. Bob is a very talented woodworker and he has produced many fine quality pieces that are used in the Church, Chapel, and Legacy Hall. In early 2019, Father Rob acquired a large statue of St. Joseph. A decorative stand or platform was needed to display this statue in the Chapel. Bob was consulted and he designed and created a beautiful decorative stand for the statue. Later in the year, Father Rob realized there was an increased need for an “Urn Ark” to be used at funerals, where cremains urns are carried into church for the funeral ceremony. The urn is placed in the ark and then the funeral directors or pallbearers bring the ark into the sanctuary. Bob did a lot of research and came up with a couple of different designs that he presented to Father Rob for approval. A design was approved and Bob proceeded to produce a beautiful ark made out of black walnut wood, plate glass, and brass hardware. Bob’s craftsmanship is second-to-none and it shows in both of these pieces. Bob is a true “steward” by donating his time, his talent, and his treasure to St. Catherine of Siena Parish Community. He is also a good friend.
