We all know the story of The Good Samaritan, where an “unlikely neighbor” stops along the road to help a stranger in urgent need of care, but does this story really pertain to us, today? The answer is, yes, and in many different ways. One very specific way is through St. Catherine’s GOOD SAMARITAN FUND. Originally established in 2004 as “The Unemployment Fund,” the Fund was renamed and renewed in 2014. The Good Samaritan Fund is an outreach ministry of St. Catherine of Siena Church, a 501(c)3 organization.
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27
The Good Samaritan Fund reaches out to neighbors experiencing temporary hardships by offering confidential financial assistance for basic human needs.
